Historically Grout, which dates back to 3000 BC, has simple been a cement like filler between tiles. It's purpose was to complete the protection of the wall and protect the tile edges. In 1824, Joseph Aspden, as stone mason, refined it to more like today's grout, a water based fine cement. Grout Tek uses two types of grout - the 1824 version modified for todays homes with latex acrylic fortifiers and colorants and Epoxy Grout. These new grouts add flexibility, durability and add a better water vapor barrier than older "installer" grouts.
