Grout Tek’s Maximum Protection
15-Year Sealer for Stone and Grout

Put an End to Re-Sealing – Other sealers fill the pores on stone or grout using chemicals referred to as siloxanes, teflons, fluoropolymers, or other silicones. While this pore-filling method is effective, the chemicals gradually dissipate due to use, foot traffic, heat, sunlight, freezing, and cleaning. Resealing is then required. The chemical in Stain-Proof, however, chemically bonds directly to the latticework of the stone forever. This bond is of the same order of magnitude as the bond that holds the stone together. Stain-Proof will not require resealing, even outside in heavy traffic, for a minimum of 15 years.

Protects Against Oil and Water Staining – Stain-Proof reduces the surface energy of stone below the surface tension of oil and water. These liquids then remain on the surface for easy cleaning. If you request additional graffiti repellence, we’ll use a final coat of Dry-Treat’s Marble & Porcelain Sealer to inhibit penetration by permanent marker, spray paint and other solvent-based stains.

Stops Efflorescence and Salt Damage – Stain-Proof protects your concrete and stone from the damaging effects of snow-melt salt. Additionally, it allows water vapor to breathe through without carrying calcium salts that lead to white powdery lime scale called efflorescence.

Mold and Mildew Inhibiting – Mold, mildew and moss grow when the stone or grout absorbs water and is slow to dry. Stain-Proof prevents water absorption, so these do not grow. Any low spots where water collects may grow surface mildew, but a quick spray with bleach removes it without hurting the seal.

Use Any Cleaner – Cleaning becomes much easier. Since Stain-Proof is bleach-tolerant, surface marks can often be bleached out. In fact, any cleaner can be used without affecting the seal. Please note: acidic cleaners may etch the stone, though they do not affect the seal. We recommend cleaning with a cleaner specifically designed for natural stone. You should always wipe up spills quickly.

Customer Friendly – Stain-Proof won’t change the frictional properties or appearance. The odor dissipates quickly. The surface can be used when it is visibly dry – usually within 30 minutes after the second coat. Wipe up stains quickly, especially during the first month as the seal increases in strength.

Other Notes – Stain-Proof passes through most water-based or distillate-based impregnating sealers. Stain-Proof does not make the surface glossy. On a few types of stone such as dark slate, it may slightly darken the stone or give a slightly enhanced look. Stain-Proof will not protect against acid etching, surface scratching or surface wear.
